What is Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)?

Retrieval-augmented generation is a method where an AI model first searches your own documents or data for relevant information, then uses what it found to write its answer. It lets an AI answer questions about your business without being retrained.

Why it matters for your business

RAG keeps answers grounded in your real policies, manuals and records, and lets the AI show its sources, which makes it far more trustworthy than a general chatbot.

Example

Staff ask "What is our refund policy for annual plans?" and the assistant answers from the current policy document, with a link to the page it used.
