What is Prototype?

A prototype is an interactive model of a product or feature, ranging from clickable screens to partly working code, built to test an idea before full development. Unlike a wireframe, it lets people click through flows and experience how the product will behave.

Why it matters for your business

Prototypes let stakeholders and users react to something concrete early, so changes happen in a design tool rather than in finished code, which is far more expensive to rework.

Example

A logistics company reviews a clickable prototype of its new booking portal with three key customers, adjusts the checkout steps, and only then starts development.
