What is AI guardrails?

AI guardrails are the rules and checks placed around an AI system to keep it safe, on topic and within its permissions. They include input filters, output checks, action limits and human approval steps.

Why it matters for your business

Guardrails let you put AI in front of customers or connect it to business systems without risking off-brand answers, data leaks or unapproved actions.

Example

An AI agent may draft refunds of any size, but anything over $200 waits for a manager to approve it before it is processed.
