What is Agentic workflow?

An agentic workflow is a business process where one or more AI agents plan and carry out several steps, using tools and data along the way, with people stepping in at agreed points. It sits between simple automation and a fully manual process.

Why it matters for your business

Agentic workflows handle tasks that are too varied for fixed automation rules, such as triaging requests or preparing reports, while keeping people in control of key decisions.

Example

When a supplier emails an updated price list, an agent reads it, compares it with current costs, drafts the changes in the ERP and asks purchasing to approve them.
