What is Core Web Vitals?

Core Web Vitals are a set of Google metrics that measure real-user page experience: Largest Contentful Paint (loading speed), Interaction to Next Paint (responsiveness) and Cumulative Layout Shift (visual stability). They are based on field data from real Chrome users and are among the signals Google Search considers.

Why it matters for your business

Slow or jumpy pages frustrate visitors and can reduce conversions, especially on mobile. Good scores also support search visibility, though content relevance still matters more.

Example

An online store finds its hero image and third-party scripts delay loading on phones, so the team compresses images, defers scripts and serves assets through a CDN.
