What is Caching?
Caching is the technique of storing a copy of frequently requested data in a fast, temporary location so future requests can be answered without repeating the original work. Caches exist at many levels, including browsers, CDNs, application memory and databases, and each needs a rule for when stored data expires.
Why it matters for your business
Good caching makes applications faster and cheaper to run by reducing database load and repeated calls to paid APIs, but stale caches can show outdated information if not managed carefully.
A pricing page caches exchange rates for fifteen minutes instead of calling an external currency API on every visit, which cuts response times and API fees.
