What is Push notifications?

Push notifications are short messages that an app or website sends to a user's device, appearing on the lock screen or in the notification area even when the app is not open. They are delivered through platform services such as Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging, and require the user's permission.

Why it matters for your business

Well-timed, relevant notifications bring users back, cut missed appointments and deliveries, and drive repeat purchases, while overuse leads people to switch them off.

Example

A delivery app sends a push notification when a driver is ten minutes away, so the customer is ready and fewer drops fail.
