What is Infrastructure as code (IaC)?

Infrastructure as code means defining servers, networks, databases and other cloud resources in configuration files rather than setting them up by hand. Tools read these files and create the same environment every time.

Why it matters for your business

IaC makes environments repeatable and reviewable, so test and production match, changes are tracked and a lost environment can be rebuilt in minutes.

Example

A single configuration file creates the staging environment for every new feature, identical to production, and removes it when the feature ships.
