What is Cloud migration?

Cloud migration is the process of moving applications, data and infrastructure from on-premises servers or older hosting to a cloud platform such as AWS or Microsoft Azure. It can be a direct move or include modernizing the software along the way.

Why it matters for your business

Moving to the cloud removes hardware maintenance, makes scaling easier and improves backup and recovery, when it is planned around cost and security from the start.

Example

A company moves its customer portal and database from an aging office server to managed cloud services, with automated backups and a tested recovery plan.
