What is Code review?
Code review is the practice of having one or more developers examine a colleague's code changes before they are merged, checking for bugs, security issues, readability and fit with the existing design. It usually happens through pull requests in a version control platform and complements, rather than replaces, automated testing.
Why it matters for your business
Reviews catch defects early when they are cheapest to fix, spread knowledge across the team and keep the codebase maintainable, which limits technical debt.
A developer opens a pull request for a new invoicing feature, and a reviewer spots that tax is calculated before discounts, so the logic is corrected before release.
