What is Quality assurance (QA)?

Quality assurance is the set of activities that make sure software works as intended before and after release. It includes test planning, manual testing, automated tests and checks for performance and security.

Why it matters for your business

Strong QA catches problems before customers do, which protects your reputation and avoids the higher cost of fixing issues in production.

Example

Before each release, automated tests cover the checkout flow and a tester runs the new features on the five most-used phones and browsers.
