What is Microsoft Fabric?

Microsoft Fabric is a software-as-a-service analytics platform that brings data integration, data engineering, warehousing, real-time analytics, data science and Power BI reporting together in one product. All of these workloads share a single organization-wide data lake called OneLake, so teams work from the same copy of the data.

Why it matters for your business

Fabric can replace a collection of separately managed data tools with one platform and one bill, which reduces integration work and makes it easier to govern who sees what.

Example

A distributor loads ERP, CRM and web store data into OneLake each night, models it in a Fabric warehouse and publishes Power BI dashboards that sales and finance both use.
