What is Software as a service (SaaS)?

Software as a service is software delivered over the internet on a subscription, rather than installed and maintained on each customer's own computers or servers. The provider hosts, updates and secures it.

Why it matters for your business

SaaS lets customers start quickly with predictable costs, and lets software companies improve the product for everyone at once.

Example

A safety management platform is sold as monthly subscriptions; every customer gets new features the day they are released.
