What is Data migration?

Data migration is the process of moving data from one system to another, for example from an old ERP to a new one, while cleaning and reshaping it to fit the new system. It ends with checks proving that nothing was lost.

Why it matters for your business

Migration is where most system replacements succeed or fail. Careful mapping, test runs and reconciliation make the switch safe.

Example

Customers, open invoices and five years of order history move from an old accounting system to Business Central, with totals reconciled before go-live.
